In November, West Australian Orthodontics was given Dental Practice Accreditation by QIP (Quality Innovation Performance).

What does this mean for you?

We now proudly belong to a group of newly accredited dental practices throughout Australia that has proven to meet the high QIP quality standards of patient care for all patients.

When choosing an accredited practice a patient can always expect a reduction in clinical and general risks. Patients can take comfort and security in knowing that all staff are educated and engaged in the implementation of dental systems and improvement of dental processes within their practice.

For participating dental practices, they’re assessed against the first six NSQHS (National Safety and Quality Health Service) Standards applicable to dentistry:

  1. Governance for Safety and Quality in Health Service Organisations
  2. Partnering with Consumers
  3. Preventing and Controlling Healthcare Associated Infections
  4. Medication Safety
  5. Patient Identification and Procedure Matching
  6. Clinical Handover

For us we use it as a baseline to improve. Our patients are our first priority, and to be accredited ensures the safety of our patients and sets a high standard of quality in everything we do.

The team at West Australian Orthodontics has created a unique culture within of quality and safety, to help gain the Dental Practice Accreditation, for the benefit of our patients.
