Your First Visit

The first time you visit our office you will be welcomed by our friendly reception staff and following this, we will obtain the necessary baseline digital photographs and radiographs (x-rays) and perform a thorough orthodontic examination in order to determine a proper diagnosis and identify possible treatment options. These treatment options, as well as Dr Kandasamy’s recommendations for treatment; including the best time to commence treatment, anticipated treatment duration and associated fees, will be explained during the discussion part of the appointment. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions during this consultation and discussion phase. If you have any radiographs or dental study models taken previously that you think will be of value please hand these to the receptionist on arrival. Please note that this appointment will take approximately 1 hour.

While some patients are ready for orthodontic treatment immediately, others are not, and may be placed on a recall schedule so that they may be monitored until it is the perfect time to start. This will mean that you will be asked to come and see us again for a review appointment anywhere from 6 months to 2 years’ time. For those patients who are ready to start treatment right away, we can proceed immediately following the consultation.
